Run to God

I am currently listening to “Come to Me” by Bethel Music, as I write this. The song is so powerful and reminds me to go to God for everything. The song also reminds me of Psalms 23, where God tells us that he is our shepherd and he will lead us beside still waters, he will restore our soul and lead us to the paths of righteousness. God tells us that not only will he protect us, but he will restore hearts.  There is so much power in this bible verse, and if you ever feel weary you can say this as a prayer. My mom taught me this prayer as a child and I always refer to it, so let’s pray together:

Psalm 23King James Version (KJV)

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Jesus Christ we come to you today, we ask that you may restore our soul to the path of righteousness. Lord, our flesh is failing us, but we know that with you nothing is impossible. Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, because you are with us, we shall fear no evil. Father today we come to you and ask that you may forgive our sins, may you restore our hearts and we ask that you may come into our lives. Jesus Christ we ask that you make us new again, as we accept you into our lives. We know that no matter what, you will always lead us and protect us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
