Be Still

Have you ever been in a place where you’re waiting for God, but he’s taking too long to respond, so instead of patiently waiting you take matters into your own hands.

Well they say that patience is a virtue. Many of us lack this and we need to continuously ask God to give us patience, peace and understanding.

Even the bible, tells us that God had promised Abraham many descendants, but after years of waiting for this promise to be fulfilled Sarah took matters into her own hands; she gave her servant Hagar to her husband (Genesis 16:2). This is her taking matters into her own hands. The God we serve does not go against his promises. But his timing is not the same as our own, and his understanding is not the same as our own.

Even after taking matters into her own hands Sarah was never happy. Plan B will never make you as happy as plan A (God’s plan).

Have faith and trust in his timing, he requires your obedience. Submit to his plans, his ways and his understanding. Tear down those boxes that you have placed God.

Today, my prayer is for God to give us patience. For him to allow us to be still and wait upon his promises. He is the king of kings, and the Lord of Lords. The great I am. May we learn to wait upon his word, because he is God and does not go against his word.

For this I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen!
